It’s still sunshine & lollipops in London! How weird is that? Although it’s come with a dose of pollution. There’s a yellowy-grey haze all over the horizons.

Drafted like WOAH

Yesterday I hit a big writing milestone. I finished the draft of Molly’s Gift. It’s now a whole story, complete from start to finish. No gaps. No holes. No [write some stuff here]s. 95,242 words of story A to Z.

A new year for writing

I want to keep up some of that momentum this year. I have to be realistic. I don’t think it’s likely that I will improve on what I managed last year. So here is my Do This Stuff in 2011 list.

A story of mine is up on Everdayfiction.com — Letter to You After Thirteen Months. It went up yesterday. Ladies and gentlemen, although it’s only a token payment, that is my very first sale.

Ramblings on genre

A ramble on genres. What is Molly’s Gift? I think it’s chick lit with paranormal elements. Why is that considered girly – not hardcore? Because finishing a book IS hardcore, no matter what the genre.

Writing update: first draft ahoy

I am calling it: I have a first draft of Molly’s Gift, at 90,000 words. It’s full of holes, loaded with glaring inconsistencies, and scattered with spaces where I was supposed to have finished a scene. But it’s there.

Last day of October already

It seems very close to Xmas already. And I haven’t finished the first draft of Molly’s Gift by now, which I wanted to do!
