Happy Shortest Day of the Year, southern hemisphere-ians!
It feels fitting that I woke this morning to the sound of rain on the roof. It is blustery and rainy and kinda miserable in Melbourne today.
Winter solstice in the northern hemisphere is a tad more celebratory, I think, considering it lands 4 days before Xmas. I will probably celebrate the solstice downunder by… skipping soccer training, haha. Woo.
(Maybe I’ll be good & go the gym as a replacement)
(Let’s see)
Perhaps also a hastily arranged seasonal meal is in order. Baked potato with spicy cauliflower and sour cream? Poached pears for dessert? Hmm, I just learned that Australian-grown truffles are harvested in winter — I wonder if I could my hands on a smidgen — although perhaps something drizzled in a bit of truffle-oil might be more appropriate to the bank balance!
