Hot on the heels of January comes February, rushing in with her hair unkempt from the wind, full of pollen and leaf litter.
IN
- Plants. New colonists have arrived! The garden has been kicked off with sweet basil, curly leaf mint, thyme, oregano and sage. More leafy green things to follow. And with luck, at least some will survive. I’m very dubious about my gardening skills.
- Ghostbusters @ the Astor. I just got to see this favourite classic on a big screen! The Astor cinema is a grand art deco original. It’s a bit run down but a very cool place. I will definitely be visiting again to see other favourites, like the Labyrinth. “Back off man. I’m a scientist.” Ghostbusters is Hadly Freeman’s favourite film. Read the comments thread for more brilliant quotes (some of them from Ghostbusters 2, but we won’t quibble)
- Easy dinners. With the kitchen still not quite fully stocked, Duffster & I have mostly been eating yum salads with meat, like cheaters’ rotisserie chicken from the supermarket or steak or lamb chops. Summer eating
OUT
- My pension transfer. Not only is taking me ages to sort out the paperwork, the exchange rate is now so shit that I’m not going to get very many Aussie dollars when the transfer eventually goes ahead. Luckily (or not?) retirement is a long way away.
