Awesome things that are awesome

Wooooops. Oh yeah, I have a blog. Hi. You poor two readers.

Maybe I need to make myself a mini challenge to post here more often.

I owe a loving + loathing for June and I swear it’s around here somewhere {fumbling in pockets} but in the meantime why not a list of all the Awesome Stuff that is Awesome. It’s not the same, I swear.

Item the first: holiday in Thailand next month! (oof I just ruined my loving + loathing post for July). This will be my first proper visit to Asia, so obv also my first visit to Thailand. We’re going to Phuket & will be hanging with The Duffster’s family, as he has an uncle who lives there. Am looking forward to eating lots of lush cheap food, checking out some beaches & snorkelling, and I’m not sure what else actually. It’s nice to turn up with no firm expectations. Am not looking forward to: plane environment followed by humidity & sunscreen. That combo seems to result in a bout of icky dermatitis. I am not the graceful glamorous put-together holidaying type, oh no. I am the one with frizzy hair, shiny blotchy skin, in mismatched last summer’s old threads dug out of the back of the wardrobe. Which just means I get to take all the photos! And edit them ruthlessly before they get posted anywhere.

Item the second: our landlord said we can get a CAT {crazy cat lady dance of joy} When this job contract of mine ends we are so getting one!

Item the third: Crabtree & Evelyn hand creams. I love that they come in metal tubes like paint. And they smell lush. I’ll admit, it’s mostly about the packaging though. I just got a lavender one half price in a discontinued sale. Before that I had an avocado one, which I preferred. It was much greasier. I apply handcream about fifteen times a day. No joke. And cuticle moisturiser every evening (which is SERIOUSLY the ONLY thing that actually worked to strengthen my nails & stop them flaking & chipping) And yet every time I get a manicure (which is super rare) they always tell me my hands are dehydrated. I’m probably going to end up with some uglyass old lady flaky papery hands, like twisted old wasp hives at the ends of my arms. Or something.

Item the fourth: my student loan is under 20,000 nzd (again) only this time it will be STAYING under 20k because I made a big enough payment that the interest won’t clock up over 20k while I’m saving up for the next payment. Paying off debt is slow but satifying & probably a bit more sensible than throwing all my cash into my other financial plan. Which is winning lotto.
